LoriLynn Simms is recently noted for her playful twist on the traditional harlequin pattern. She has a high spirited, whimsical yet refined style. Her love for coffee and cooking it up in the kitchen is reflected in her imagery. Her recognizable coffee designs along with her playful twist on chefs and kitchen spices come from what she loves doing best, cooking for others. She describes her style as “lyrical”, it’s my love for music, food and family that is the creative driving force.
Being a wife of a U.S. Marine, and the mother of three teenaged girls, she has had to adapt to a life of constant change. She calls herself a “city girl gone country”. This Southern California Girls has called everything from big city, to barren desert, to wooded countryside "home." She now resides in one of the first settled areas in the U.S., Suffolk, Virginia, an area rich in colonial history. “ I have been blessed with the opportunity to have lived in contrasting regions. Getting to experience new foods, cultures and traditions all here in this great land, has made me a richer person creatively and in nature.”
LoriLynn has a wealth of experience as an artist. She studied graphic design and production art in Southern California. She started her creative career as a menu and graphic designer. After a few years of working in the graphics industry she set her sights to textile design, it was then when she stumbled upon licensing. “ I had an Ah-ha moment and left the textile industry and concentrated on tackling the licensing arena. I was so excited about this new adventure. Most importantly it would allow me the flexible hours every mom dreams of, and the opportunity to paint and create what truly inspires “me”. So I got out my sketch book, put my skills to work and started licensing my art.”
Today her work is published with some of the industries leading manufactures. LoriLynn is every agent and customer's dream…creative, prolific and fast! You will find her art on dinnerware, kitchen tabletop, textile, giftware, prints and more. Some of these items you can find in her exclusive LoriLynn Simms retail store and coffee shop called, “Rosa’s Coffee Cantina”. This urban, hip, Latin-flared coffee shop is managed by her husband a retired U.S. Marine. Rosa’s Coffee Cantina is a true reflection of the creative spirit of LoriLynn Simms.
“My goal is to reach every home with a little flare of LoriLynn. I look forward to new relationships with reputable manufactures and merchants. I'm a firm believer that God places the right people in your life to help make your dreams come true. I have been blessed ten fold and life couldn't be more exciting. I love what I do and look forward to what tomorrow brings.”
